whats cooking

When a bunch of guys get together, normally it is just a drinking party. We found an even better way to hang out and party. COOKING.
It is perhaps not the most difficult task, but certainly a task which requires patience, elegance and motivation. It may not be rocket science, but it has its set of challenges.
It was under the able guidance of our master chef Lausanne that we were inspired to cook together and eat good food. Just to mention, you do get good food outside but as someone mentioned, it is Switzerland where everything is good and nothing cheap. Also considering many of us are vegetarians, the menu is limited if not non-existent.
So the alternative to spending a tsunami of money outside for a bland swiss food is to create your own kitchen. And boy, we did that in style. The pakora's at 1 am in the night with some classic indian style hot tea started off the proceedings which was superbly followed by a finger-licking good paneer BUTTER masala.
Cooking was never so much fun, and its amazing to see how all of us are aptly allocated work by the head chef and he makes sure we follow it to the last letter. Kudos to him.
Taking his lead, many of us have started experimenting on our own and an able student came up with kheer and lasagna. Both were delicious. As a mark of respect and to seek approval from the great cook,a sample of dishes now prepared in a different city is being sent across to him.
It has been an absolute delight in preparing and eating such amazing home food 10k Kms away from home. And all credit to the champion cook.
Along with the food, all of us are mastering Poker too :)
Such has been the quality of food that one question that all of us asks atleast once a day is 'What's on the Menu' :)
PS: just to confirm, the menu for today was idly sambhar.
